Empire is one of many apple varieties developed by the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station at Cornell University. Its parents are two well-known apple varieties: Red Delicious and McIntosh. Learn a bit more about its history and how it’s faring with apples today in this episode.

Speaking of New York apple, you should follow the New York Apple Association on Instagram. They have been posting these fun videos featuring a puppet named Bob and Dr. Crispin Braeburn (may or may not be the same puppet!). And while you are on Instagram make sure you are following my account as well!!!!

Check out my photos from a train trip I took recently and see what apples I took with me on the trip and how I packed them.
