Episode 12 - The History of Macoun

In today's episode I will share about my favorite McIntosh style apple, the Macoun! A great sweet-tart apple with fantastic flavor when picked at their peak.

If you are at all a fan of the McIntosh apple, then you must listen to today’s episode and learn about one of it’s offspring the Macoun apple. This sweet-tart apple has incredible flavor if you get them at the exact right time, which timing is the biggest issue with this apple variety.

After listening to the episode, check out the blog post I wrote about the Macoun apple.

The apples baked up softer than other apples I have baked this season but they weren’t too soft and still held their shape enough. These apples would make great applesauce too.
