We've grown Prisine for 10 years. If they drop, they are overripe (or else you had really strong winds). They do tend to be biennial, but proper pruning will help prevent. For such an early apple, they keep quite well. Two weeks for an apple ripening end of July or early August is fine. Compared to other early apples like Sunrise, which if picked when ripe lasts 2 days (but delicious for 2 days), it is a good keeper. And the flavor, while not the best, is still quite acceptable and welcome given the earliness. Farmers' Market customers are always happy to have them available.
