Welcome to the New What Apple to Eat Today
Our Apple Club emails have now become "What Apple to Eat Today" on the Substack platform.
Hey everyone. It’s Eric from Eat Like No One Else and the Apple Club email list.
I am excited today to bring you a whole new format for my apple emails. This new format is going to allow me to bring you all the same great information you expect to find and have shown that you love. A quick click/tap over to the new Substack page will contain all emails I send each week along with new content and make it easier for you to get links to the best apple content on my blog itself.
Also you will find premium content and community features that are new!
There is a new apple variety on the market right now from Stemilt Growers out of Washington. It’s called Aura. You have probably heard this story before, it’s another Honeycrisp cross. This time with an Aurora Golden Gala.
This is the first season for this apple to be shipped to stores and it’s extremely limited. Even yours truly hasn’t been able to try it, so if you find, buy one and let me know how it is.
Speaking of yellow apples, I saw boxes of Organic Opal apples at Costco today. I do love Opal apples for their sweet, yummy flavor, however this time of year I make sure to look them over before buying. I find as they turn darker yellow, sometimes they also can be less crispy than I would want. I want more of a brighter yellow color with no wrinkles.
I am hope I get a chance in the near future to try Opal and Aura side by side. You will be the first to know if I do!
Check out my review of Opal Apples on the blog.
Today, I just published a new e-book/guide for my paid subscribers on the Best Apple Varieties By Month. This will take you through each month of the year and show you what the best apples to buy either at the grocery store or at an orchard/farmer’s market. You can check out a preview below of what the book looks like and see how to get yours.
There is a free 7-day trial you can sign up for to see what is in store for you as a paid subscriber and a supporter of this page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to let me know. I hoped you enjoyed the first newsletter on this format. See ya next week!
