This week, I am starting a new series on the podcast where I will be sharing what’s going on today with apple orchards that are growing varieties from yesterday! I will post these every so often throughout the apple season. Make sure you are subscribed so not to miss one.
The first up is Old World Apples in Ridgefield, WA. This place was on my must have list for a year until I recently got to go. I spoke with the owner, Luana who joyfully shared with me about the orchard, how it started, and how it’s going today. Take a listen to learn more.
Here are some links to the varieties I mention during the episode:

So this past weekend was certainly one for the record books in terms of apple varieties! From going to a farmers market to visiting the Home Orchard Education Center in Oregon City, OR, I was able to make it up to 67 apple varieties! I am now 2/3 of the way to 100! I am will be sharing more about this place that grows more varieties that I need for this challenge while offering horticultural education and volunteer opportunities.
See which what apples have recently been added to my list. If you find one on the list you want to learn more about let me know.
